About Soddy

The Frederick Soddy Trust has provided some grants in the past to Sussex University, with whom the Trust has had a special relationship, in support of post graduate and post doctorate research.  The support is in the form of a fixed grant to assist in a project, and cannot be in the form of a fellowship to the university.  This form of support is different to that given to expeditions and fieldwork.  It is not wholly confined to Sussex University.

The Trust will consider applications for grants where the study is closely aligned to the Trust's charitable objects, broadly:  the study of the whole life of an area with major emphasis on a local community.

The study can be in the UK or abroad.

The Trust has occasionally given grants to learned societies in support of projects aligned to the Trust's charitable objects.

See Recent Support for examples of successful applications.

How to apply
There is no special form of application, but the usual subjects would need to be covered, including a budget.  The application should be signed by the Head of Department.

Applications should be on hard copy and sent to:

The Hon Secretary, The Frederick Soddy Trust
3 Woodgate Meadow, Plumpton Green, Lewes, East Sussex  BN7 3BD
