Support to the Higher Education sector by the Frederick Soddy Trust:

University Expeditions
Many university expeditions studying the whole life (including human geography: the social and or economic aspects) of an area have received the Trust's support.   The fieldwork can be in the UK or abroad.  The full requirements for those seeking support are shown on the Expeditions page.

The Postgraduate Fieldwork grant
The Frederick Soddy Trust has arranged through the Royal Geographical Society (IBG) an award of up to a total of £6,000 a year for each of the three years (2010, 2011 and 2012).

This award is administered by the Royal Geographical Society and may be applied for by postgraduates either individually or working as a group.  Eligibility and the application process can be found at  http://www.rgs.org/OurWork/Grants/Postgraduate+grants/Students.htm

Other support to establishments of Higher Education and learned societies
The Trust has supported universities in various ways including financial help over publications and the assembling of geographical information where the projects lie within the charitable objectives of the Trust.
